Information for Authors

Papers submitted to MSE 2017 should not exceed four pages in length. Work In Progress papers may not exceed 2 pages in length and the title must begin with WIP: followed by the title so that the reviewers will know now to correctly assess the manuscript. Submissions must comply with IEEE Computer Society conference proceedings publication guideline. Microsoft Word and LaTex templates for the approved format can be downloaded at:

Manuscripts should be uploaded as PDF files using EasyChair at:


NOTE: If you do not already have an EasyChair account, follow the directions to sign up for an account.  Once you are registered and logged in, click on the "New Submission" button to enter your information and upload your manuscript.

At least one author for each accepted paper must be registered for the conference at the full (non-student) rate and attend the conference in order for the paper to appear in the proceedings

Please be aware that all submissions will be scrutinized both manually and automatically for all manner of fraud including plagiarism and machine generated papers. IEEE Policies regarding misconduct allegations can be seen at:

In 2012, Prof. Tina Hudson of Rose-Hullman Institute of Technology gave a presentation on "Turning Good Ideas into Publishable Educational Research." This information is available for you to consider while writing your papers. She also provided some extra reference material.
